I should count myself lucky. Time for a straight glass of scotch whisky...

After I visited the gun range to see if they had restocked on Federal Range Target Practice ammunition, I came back, called 911 to inform of the debris hazard, and proceeded to drag the garbage off the road. One was still intact, and the other was ripped open.

Sheesh.

Cloudy and wet days tend to make for nastier driving in Everett, more dumb shit happens.

What are the odds that the Lexus is on bald tires?

You earned the scotch after that one alone. Garbage on wet roads is no bargain either.

Pretty sure it’s on bald tires, look at how long it took for him to come to a stop after his ass went into the wind. Easily 50 feet.

Is that a FWD ES, too? You’d have to be on slicks to spin that thing.

And yeah, that long slide is a giveaway.

You’re right. I had assumed it was an RWD LS. I don’t think it’s possible to spin out a FWD ES.

Doubt it’s a RWD, but even if it WAS FWD or RWD, bad rear tires will  let go at 60MPH on the wet on a curve that sharp:  https://www.google.com/maps/@47.9226759,-122.2619941,134m/data=!3m1!1e3

The sort of person that drives an old ES on bald tires is also the sort who is capable of inducing snap oversteer by slamming on the brakes when it started to slide, too.

These are the people we share the roads with...

I think we can draw some definite conclusions about the tires at this point.

First bit of rain on super dry baked roads is going to bring all the slick stuff to the surface. Plus drivers haven’t seen rain in a while.

Any of the garbage include  mail with the recipient’s address on it? Return to sender!

Green. I have his license plate number. Dude saw the spinout happening and never slowed down. If contact was made, it would have been his fault. I’m not happy about that, either.

Nah. I didn’t bother checking because it was wet out, and it looked more like garbage you’d expect at a party - paper plates, paper towels, empty paper towel rolls...

You should probably turn off so und recording on your dashcam. Depending on your state, you might be breaking the law if you have a guest in your car.

Some days are just like that. Makes you realiz e that shit can happen at any time, so be alert.

I rarely ever have guests in the car, so it’s a non-issue for me.

I think that’s an issue with recording phone calls (and Washington is a two-party consent state in that regard), not necessarily this sort of situation.
